Tuesday, December 31, 2019

This is it, kids. The last day of the 2,019th Foul Year of Our Lord. Depending on how you measure these things, it's the end of the 2010s as a decade. By the time we see each other tomorrow, it'll be 2020 and we must ponder just what all that means.

Monday, December 30, 2019

The rain's moved out and the cold's come back. I find myself in the grip still of whatever surly funk got a-hold of me Friday. Gloomy and tired as opposed to quarrelsome and irritated, really, but I don't know why the change. It is what it is, I guess. Perhaps it's a natural progression.

Sunday, December 29, 2019

Well, the Saints pounded the Panthers this afternoon, slapping Will Grier and his boys all over their home stating, ending the season 13-3. Takes one back to the 2009 season when Brees, Payton and the lads brought their first Superbowl trophy back to the still-battered New Orleans faithful.

Saturday, December 28, 2019

I've been in a bit of a quarrelsome mood the last couple days. It's a good thing no one's paid me any attention, because a couple of days of that is all I can stand. I just don't have the energy or will the be that professionally salty anymore. That's a young man's game.

Friday, December 27, 2019

As we head towards what will be the very last weekend of this decade... wait, is that right? Does a new decade start on the '00 or the '01, I never can keep that straight. Anyhow, this time next week it'll be 2020 & may the Lord have mercy on all our souls.

Man, I don't get it. Day before yesterday, the Gibberish at the Blogger site (WordPress stuck with straight News) got beaucoup hits. Yesterday, the flat-out Gibberish at WordPress topped my previous record for "Likes". It was just seven all told, but still. I'm sure there's a lesson in all that, but I'll be dipped if I know what it is.

By the by, Kwanzaa starts today, so "Habari gani?" and I do hope I'm doing that right.

Wednesday, December 25, 2019

Man, yesterday's Gibberish got 15 hits. I know that doesn't sound like a lot because it really, really ain't - and I'm not even sure how much traffic Blogger sees these days, comparatively - but it's the most I've gotten in one day on one post since I started writing again. Is it because I had "Christmas" labeled? I guess so. And, of course, the News at the WordPress sight scored a goose egg.

Monday, December 23, 2019

Whew, son. I'm not going to lie to you, beloved. I've had a rough day and I'm in no shape to do this. Still, duty calls, even if softly.

Sunday, December 22, 2019

Today's the Winter Solstice, the shortest day of the year and the official beginning of winter, it's been pouring down rain all day, and for the fourth day hand running I don't really have anything in particular to write about. Because it's raining, Otis can't go outside and has already spent all day napping, so he's pouting, too.

Saturday, December 21, 2019

This is getting to be a drag, man. This is the third day hand-running that I've had a touch of writer's block. Starting to get on my nerves.

Friday, December 20, 2019

Friday's upon us, it's definitely winter outside, and another day I'm just not into doing this. So, we'll knock things out quick and move on to the weekend. I doubt I'll be in a better mood, but hope springs eternal.

Thursday, December 19, 2019

I've been pretty out of the loop today. Slept far too late then spent the remainder of the day playing video games, napping and reading, purposefully ignoring the outside world. I only logged into Twitter about an hour ago.

UPDATE: At 7:30 p.m. Hillbilly Standard Time, the House voted to impeach Trump on two articles, abuse of power and obstruction of justice, and fairly handily at that, sending it on the Senate for trial. Trump's rally tonight in Michigan is going to be off the goddamn chain, son.

Well, it's going down. The United States House Of Representatives are holding the vote to decided whether or not President of the United States of America Donald Trump should be charged for two charges of impeachment for trying to entice a foreign company to dig up dirt on a political rival and for obstruction of Congress. As of right now, it's looking like the vote is going against Trump and since everyone has to give a speech, the vote takes all goddamn day.

Okay, we're riding with the King. Let's knock this out, because I ain't going to lie to you. I had a breakthrough in Pathfinder: Kingmaker and have been able to get myself past the next chapter. I'd rather be doing that.

Monday, December 16, 2019

I'm going to go ahead and knock as much of this as I can. We got some fierce weather to the north of us and to the south of us. Heavy winds, lightning, a few killer tornadoes, the whole nine yards. Stay above water, kids. At any given moment, the power might blip out and it could last all evening. Let's hope it don't.

Sunday, December 15, 2019

Hoo, I'm really not in the right frame of mind for this, nor am I inclined to try to stir anything up with the News. I'm more wired & tired than anything, and the grays are slumping down on me. I'll just leave it open until I hit the mark. Your fair warning: all gonzo after this, and gloomy gonzo at that.

Saturday, December 14, 2016

For whatever reason, I wrote a thing about the Royal Guardsmen's hit "Snoopy vs. Red Barron," rock & roll's Missing Years, and just the general recognition that we're answering the wrong question, as is my wont. It's all on the Tumblr site and it's a pretty good sized chunk of gibberish, so if that's you thing, go dig.

Friday, December 13, 2019

It's another cold, grey, rainy day, and therefor another day that was good for dropping out of the scene. So, let's see what kicking around today before we settle in for the weekend.

Thursday, December 12, 2019

Thursday, December 12, 2019

I've been pretty much out of pocket today, so we'll keep this short and sweet. Of course, every time I say that I wind up rambling on for a couple thousand words. I wrote a thing on LaBelle over at the Tumblr site, and it was a lot of fun if you're more interested in that. In any event, let's quit fooling around.

Wednesday, December 11, 2019

It's a new day. The sun is shining, the temperature's warmer and what snow we did get has melted off the roof. We've got some stuff to get into today, so let's get to it.

Tuesday, December 10, 2019

Tuesday, December 10, 2019

Another nasty day, nastiest one we've seen in a while. The temperature's stayed in the 30s and we've seen rain, sleet and even a little snow. Nothing's sticking here, but some places in the Viewing Area saw a nice little blanketing. On the upside it'll be cleared out, for the most part, tomorrow and will be somewhat warmer.

Monday, December 9, 2019

Three days, hand-running, the Dark Cloud has settled on me. It's a weird feeling, I recognize that the wheel has rolled around to emphasize the blues. However, I'm not the complete mess I usually when this comes around. Progress, I guess.

Saturday, December 7, 2018

It's been a good day. Had some free time, so I communed with the front yard to come back inside and to write something. About two hours later, I communed with the front yard again to come back inside and write something else. It's been lots of fun. I will put a jump with links to both, however you choose. In any event, this is going to be extremely short and sweet.

Actually, I think that's it. This is an example of what I'm going to do when I change the new way of doing things. Not sure what to call it yet. Something catchy or something straightforward? For now, let's take a nod from Umberto Eco and call it The Project. Hopefully I won't attract anyone who thinks I should sacrificed or hounded to death or whatever gets done to the protagonists of Foucault's Pendulum.

Anyhow, I'm crashing and it's early yet. I wonder if I will play something. I was getting back into Neverwinter Nights 2, but I've come upon a part where I keep getting stomped in the dirt. I must be doing something wrong. Maybe I'll get into one of those games I bought on the last Steam sale, Rebel Cops or American Fugitive. I returned Phantom Doctrine since it's in next month's Humble Bundle. I'd bought it on sale, but ten bucks is ten bucks. I've been getting a Pathfinder jones, and I see a big plot point dead ahead. Might as well sack up and see what happens.

I've been reading Punktown. It's good but a slower lead that I prefer. The plot needs to be thick but it's slowing the story down. A future detective noir space colonies thing with maybe a hint of Lovecraft coming. Finding terrifying things that don't belong because of poking around the universe in a space ship that probably couldn't exist anyway is a concept not played to as much in my liking in modern literature. Still and all, a fun book, but maybe too much a chaw right now.

I guess I'll take a nap. Click below if you really need to. Otherwise, there ya go.

Thursday, December 5, 2019

Sometimes it's a slow news days because I'm lazy or really not in the right frame of mind to deal with anything, much less the strange land we currently wander through.. Sometimes it's a slow news days because it's a slow news day. Those aren't bad, mind; it's nice to able to take a step away from the maddening crowd and think on things. We really don't give ourselves the opportunity to day that near enough.

Monday, December 2, 2019

The Sleep whipped me big time today and I didn't get near as much accomplished as I wished. The extra time to commune with the front yard was nice, but it was just too damn cold today to enjoy it. Any, let's get down to the business at hand.

Sunday, December 1, 2019

Ah, Sunday morning coming down and going home. After yesterday's heavy rains and blustering thunderstorms, today was fairly pleasant. Cool and windy, but nice enough.
